How to get more living foods into your daily intake.
Vegetables have powerful levels of carotenoids and other nutrients that help prevent age-related diseases!
1. The biggest animals- elephants, gorillas, rhinoceroses, hippo’s and giraffes-
All eat predominantly green vegetation. All protein on the planet was formed from the effect of sunlight on green plants. I like to eat a higher plant based diet and smaller amount of animal protein. Having tried numerous styles of eating over the years, ( 7 years Vegetarian, 2 years Raw and studied Ayurvedic and Macrobiotic), I have decided that what is important is what you remove from eating habits that counts. Try to eat less processed foods.
2. Smoothies for any time of the day.
A left over of my Raw days..and a great way to get your greens..
Water or Almond milk. Frozen banana, broken into chunks,
1/2 c frozen blueberries, 1 c fresh spinach or mixed greens.
Start with more fruit and over time change till 70% green and 30% fruit.
3. Added extra’s
For more punch and depending on your tastes, add
pitted dates, ( sweetener and fibre).
ground flaxseeds, or Hemp seeds (omega 3’s).
Maca powder (boost energy, regulate hormones etc).
Cacao (antioxidant, mood enhancer).
Acai (antioxidant and digestion).
